Graduation Period II UGM February 2024 : Department of Physics Graduated 24 Students to Hold Bachelor Degree

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]A total of 24 students of Physics and Geophysics study programs of the Department of Physics attended the UGM graduation procession period 2 on February 21, 2024 held at Grha Sabha Pramana. This moment is one of the most awaited because it marks the completion of the undergraduate study period at the Department of Physics UGM.

Prof. dr. Ova Emilia, M.Med.Ed., Sp.OG(K), Ph.D. as Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada in her speech said “Congratulations to the graduates and graduates who have graduated today and officially become part of the UGM alumni family (KAGAMA), continue to be a lifelong learner, improve your abilities and capacities wherever you are, while maintaining a good name and love for the alma mater, because that is where the big UGM family is. Visit of Da’ar El Salam High School to the Basic Physics Laboratory: Deepening Physics Knowledge

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]On Wednesday, February 21, 2024, the Basic Physics Laboratory received a visit from Da’ar El Salam High School Bogor. The purpose of this visit was to acquire academic information and introduce laboratory physics practical activities to the students. The delegation from Da’ar El Salam High School consisted of 40 individuals, including 30 students and 10 teachers.

The students and teachers were warmly welcomed by Dr. Eko Sulistya, M.Si., the Head of the Basic Physics Laboratory. He provided insights into the structure of educators and laboratory-managing lecturers in the Physics Department, introduced various practical rooms along with their experiments, and explained the equipment used in Basic Physics experiments. In order to enhance understanding of the importance of promoting SDGs to improve UGM’s global reputation, the Physics Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at UGM held a kick-off meeting for the department’s media team on Thursday, February 15, 2024, in Meeting Room II Physics. Explore Science Phenomena, Take a Peek at the Excitement of SD IT BIAS Yogyakarta’s Students at UGM Physics

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]February 12, 2024, the Basic Physics Laboratory under the UGM Department of Physics received a visit from students of SD IT BIAS Yogyakarta. This visit aims to build the aspirations and motivation of students to be enthusiastic about learning, as well as introducing students to what science is and fun science phenomena.

100 students from SD IT BIAS Yogyakarta, consisting of 5th and 6th graders, were divided into two large groups. In the caloric room, the first group was invited to recognize phenomena that are closely related to physics. The retirement of Mr. Jamhari: Long and dedicated service at the Department of Physics UGM

Workshop : Strategic Plan Preparation for the Department of Physics 2023-2027

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]As part of FMNS, the Department of Physics prepares a Strategic Plan (Renstra) to provide a forum for programs, excellence, and development that are specific to the Department of Physics. The Strategic Plan of the Department of Physics 2023-2027 was prepared by a Task Force Team consisting of a number of seniors in the Department of Physics, department leaders, managers of study programs, laboratories, and KBK.

On January 24, 2024, the Department of Physics UGM held a workshop to prepare the 2023-2027 Strategic Plan. The workshop was attended by almost all lecturers of the Department of Physics and invited 3 speakers, namely: Prof. Dr. Agus Haryono. M.Sc (Deputy for Research and Innovation Facility of BRIN); Prof. Dr. M.Si. (Dean of Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences); and Bachtiar Rifai, S.Si., M.Sc. M.Si. presented that the Strategic Plan of FMIPA UGM has four strategic goals including employability, academic reputation, contribution to solving community problems and welfare. To achieve these strategic goals, FMIPA UGM provides supporting facilities such as Career Center, Taiwan Center, Omah TI, Health Promoting University, and many more. The four strategic goals will be achieved by strategic programs followed by indicators taken from the performance achievement targets (TCK) of the Physics Department mandated by FMIPA added with additional indicators set by the Physics Department.
