UGM Physics PKM at SMA N 8 Yogyakarta: Exploring Quantum, Careers, and Finance in the Science of Physics

The Material and Instrumentation Physics Expertise Group (KBK) from the Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), once again held a Community Service Program (PKM) on Monday, July 14, 2025, at SMA Negeri 8 Yogyakarta. This event carried the theme International Year of Quantum Science and Technology: Building a Career and Financial Future with Physics and was attended by around 270 11th-grade students. read more

Community Service by the Physics Department of UGM at SMAN 1 Baturetno Wonogiri, Central Java

Wonogiri, June 21, 2024 – The Physics Department of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) conducted a community service event at SMAN 1 Baturetno, Wonogiri, Central Java on June 20, 2024. This event aimed to introduce high school students to the field of physics and its applications, and was presented by lecturers from the Physics Department of UGM. It is hoped that after this event, high school students will develop an interest in natural sciences, especially physics, and be motivated to study it further. read more

PkM activities of KBK FT and KBK FTK in Physics MGMP Wonogiri Regency in 2023

To further introduce the tridarma of Higher Education activities held at the Department of Physics FMIPA UGM, to increase the theoretical and experimental competence of physics teachers, and to increase the number of collaborations between institutions, Community Service (PkM) activities were carried out by the Applied Physics Expertise Group (KBK FT) and the Computational Theoretical Physics Expertise Group (KBK FTK) of the Atomic and Core Physics Laboratory of the Department of Physics FMIPA UGM in the Physics MGMP of Wonogiri Regency. PkM activities were carried out on September 1, 2023 in Wonogori, and on September 30, 2023 at the Department of Physics FMIPA UGM. This PkM activity was coordinated by the FT KBK Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Mitrayana, S.Si., M.Si. and the FTK KBK Coordinator, Dr. Dwi Satya Palupi, S.Si., M.Si.
