Master’s students from the Physics Study Program, Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FMIPA UGM), participated in The 14th Asian-Australasian Conference on Composite Materials (ACCM 2026), held from July 14–17, 2026, at the Sabah International Convention Centre, Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.
ACCM 2026 served as an international scientific forum that brought together researchers, academics, students, and practitioners from various countries to share research findings and discuss the latest developments in composite materials. The conference provided participants with an opportunity to present their research, exchange knowledge, and establish networks and potential collaborations in the development of composite materials and related technologies.
Five Master’s students from the Physics Study Program at UGM, namely Ghina Syifa Ufairah, Mega Andini, Anisa Ramadhani, Khalifatus Sakdiyah, and Geby Alawiyah, participated in the conference as part of the delegation from the Department of Physics, FMIPA UGM.
The participation of UGM Master’s Physics students in this international conference provided an important opportunity to broaden their academic knowledge and gain international research experience. Through interactions with researchers and academics from various institutions, the students gained new perspectives on developments in composite materials research and engaged in discussions on current innovations and challenges in the field.
Participation in ACCM 2026 also supported the development of students’ competencies within an international academic environment. The conference provided a platform for students to enhance their scientific communication skills, expand their professional networks, and explore opportunities for research collaboration with institutions and researchers from Indonesia and abroad.
The participation of the five UGM Master’s Physics students in The 14th Asian-Australasian Conference on Composite Materials (ACCM 2026) reflects the Department of Physics, FMIPA UGM’s commitment to supporting student capacity development and encouraging active engagement in international scientific forums. This experience is expected to contribute positively to the students’ research development while strengthening the Department of Physics’ international academic networks.
Through this participation, the Department of Physics, FMIPA UGM, continues to encourage students to actively engage in international scientific activities, develop innovative research, and contribute to the advancement of science and technology, particularly in the fields of composite materials and functional materials.
