GRADUATE COMPETENCY
The detailed description of the competencies of graduates of the Geophysical Study Program becomes as follows:
- Knowledge and understanding:
- Understand and understand basic science (mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, geology) (K1)
- Understand and understand geophysics in general and its relation to other sciences such as geology, geodesy, geochemistry, geography, computing, information-technology (K2)
- Understand and understand the existence of earth as one of the planets in the solar system in a universe (K3)
- Understand and understand the earth’s internal physics, shapes, and structures (K4)
- Understand and understand the concept of all geophysical methods (including seismic, gravity, magnetic, electrical, electromagnetic, thermoactivity) (K5)
- Understand and understand the scientific steps of data acquisition, data processing, and interpretation (K6)
- Understand and understand the concept of exploration of natural resources for energy (e.g. oil and gas, coal, geothermal) and mining materials (e.g., iron, copper, gold, silver, tin) and groundwater by geophysical methods (K7)
- Understand and understand natural symptoms such as earthquake, tsunami, volcanic eruption (K8)
- Understand and understand global symptoms and changes and their implications, such as rotation and nutasis of the earth, movements of continental crusts/ plates, and inner movements of the earth, global warming, widespread ozone layer holes and so on (K9)
- Realizing that the interpretation of geophysics is a solution to the problem behind (inverse problem) that has anambiguity (K10)

- Intellectual Skills are capable of:
- Operationally master basic science (mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, geology) (K13)
- Mastering operationally in interacting with other sciences related to the anphorism (K14)
- Mastering operationally the calculation of the influence of celestial objects such as the moon and sun on the earth such as the presence of symptoms of tides, daily and semi-daily variations, magnetic storms caused by sun spots (sun stains) and so on (K15)
- Operationally master the explanation of the shape and internal structure of the earth and how to determine it (K16)
- Operationally master all geophysical methods (including seismic, gravity, magnetic, electrical, electromagnetic, thermos, radio-activity) (K17)
- Operationally mastering the scientific measures of data acquisition, data processing, and interpretation (K18)
- Operationally mastering the exploration of natural resources for energy (e.g. oil and gas, coal, geothermal) and mining materials (e.g., iron, copper, gold, silver, tin) and groundwater by geophysical method (K19)
- Mastering operational monitoring, surveilance and early warning system of natural symptoms such as earthquake, tsunami, volcanic eruption (K20)
- Operationally mastering the monitoring, surveilance and early warning system of global symptoms and their implications, such as rotation and nutasis of the earth, movements of the crust / continental plate, as well as the inner movements of the earth and so on (K21)
- Mastering operationally the creation of interpretation models and one of the simple counter-problem solving (K22)
- Mastering geophysical research methods (K23)

- Practical Skills are able to:
- Comprehensively design a comprehensive survey of all major geophysical methods (K25)
- Preparing and implementing the acquisition of geophysical data carefully and accurately with all kinds of difficulties that must be overcome both in the laboratory and in the field (K26)
- Carrying out geophysical data processing that is often incomplete and not evenly distributed (K27)
- Implementing interpretation by modeling and/or solving simple back problems (K28)
- Skilled in computer use both for the purposes of solving geophysical problems as well as for communication and internet access (K29)
