On Wednesday, 28 January 2026, the Department of Physics organized a Workshop on Teaching and Research, as well as the Completion of the Outcome-Based Assessment (OBA) System, held at Meeting Room 1 of the Department of Physics. The activity took place from 08:00 to 16:00 WIB and was attended by all lecturers within the Department of Physics.
Yogyakarta — Four students from the Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), participated in the 11th International Conference on Composite Materials and Material Engineering (ICCMME 2026), held at the Tokyo University of Science, Tokyo, Japan, from January 28 to 30, 2026. During this event, all UGM delegates served as oral speakers and presented their research findings in an international scientific forum.
The Department of Physics organized a workshop entitled “Sustainable Synergy Workshop: Leadership Transition, Appreciating Dedication, and Building Innovation in the Department of Physics”, held on 9–10 January 2026 at the Kalimasada Ballroom, Griya Persada Convention Hotel & Resort, Yogyakarta. This activity aimed to evaluate the performance of the 2021–2026 management period, strengthen synergy among study programs, and formulate strategic steps for the future development of the Department of Physics.

The Physics Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), organized a Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) activity for Doctoral (PhD) students from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) on Wednesday, 10 December 2025. The activity was held at Hotel Grand Zuri Malioboro, Yogyakarta.
The Doctoral Program in Physics, Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), organized a Workshop on Motivation and Resilience for Doctoral Physics Students on Thursday, 11 December 2025. The event was held at Grand Zuri Malioboro Hotel, Yogyakarta, from 08:00 a.m. to 04:00 p.m. (WIB).
The Materials Science Pre-screening Internship Program 2025, organized by the Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST), once again offered students from various countries the opportunity to gain hands-on research experience in an international-standard laboratory environment. This year, two representatives from the Department of Physics, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM)—Larrisa Jestha Mahardhika and Husna Ajrina—successfully passed the selection process and participated in the onsite internship held in Nara, Japan, from 24 November to 6 December 2025. Larrisa has completed her master’s degree, while Husna is an active fourth-semester student in the Master’s Program in Physics.
Yogyakarta — The Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada, has once again achieved remarkable recognition through the attainment of three awards at the Insan UGM Berprestasi 2025 ceremony. These awards reflect the university’s appreciation for members of its academic community and partners who have demonstrated exceptional dedication in innovation, scientific publication, and the utilization as well as downstream implementation of UGM’s research outputs.
Yogyakarta — Two students from the 2024 Odd Semester cohort of the Master’s Program in Physics, Department of Physics, FMIPA Universitas Gadjah Mada—Rafiqa Wulandani and Rafli Fandu Ramadhani—participated in the Sakura Science Exchange Program held at Mie University, Japan, from 2–4 December 2025.
This program is an international exchange initiative fully supported by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) to strengthen research capacity and global collaboration.
