On Wednesday, July 31, 2024, the Department of Physics hosted a comparative study visit from the Physics Study Program of the Institut Teknologi Sumatera (ITERA). The visit took place from 9:00 to 11:00 AM WIB.
The main goal of this visit was to discuss and compare the curricula and the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program at both institutions. It aimed to serve as a platform for exchanging knowledge and experiences to enhance the quality of education and learning in the field of physics.
The ITERA delegation was warmly welcomed by the Head of the Physics Department, the leadership team of the Undergraduate Physics Program, and the Curriculum Committee and Quality Assurance Unit. During the visit, presentations were given on the curriculum used in the Physics Department, followed by an in-depth discussion of the various MBKM programs that have been and will be implemented.
The visit concluded with a Q&A session and open discussion, where both parties could provide feedback and ideas for curriculum development and MBKM implementation going forward. It is hoped that through this visit, the collaboration between the Physics Department and ITERA Physics Program will become stronger (SDG 17) and contribute positively to higher education in Indonesia (SDG 4). This visit also supports innovation in education through the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka program (SDG 9).
