IUP Industrial Physics

Connecting Physics with Industry and Innovation

The International Undergraduate Program (IUP) in Industrial Physics at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) is designed to prepare future-ready physicists with the skills and mindset to thrive in the global industrial and technology landscape. The program bridges fundamental physics with real-world industrial applications—particularly in areas like semiconductors, materials science, automation, and non-destructive testing (NDT)—ensuring graduates are both scientifically grounded and highly employable.

Delivered fully in English, this program attracts students from around the world and fosters a globally-minded, collaborative learning environment. Our mission is to connect students to the heart of cutting-edge technology, enabling them to build careers in innovation-driven industries.

Industry-Oriented Curriculum
The program integrates essential physics topics—mechanics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, and quantum physics—with specialized courses in:

  • Semiconductor technology

  • Sensor development

  • Industrial material science

  • Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)

Students gain the ability to analyze, design, and optimize industrial processes using physics principles.

Hands-On Experience
Through intensive lab work, industry-focused projects, and internships with leading companies, students gain practical skills to solve real-world challenges—ranging from energy efficiency to automation and manufacturing optimization.

International Exposure
With a mandatory international mobility program, students spend at least one semester abroad. The program offers dual degree pathways and research opportunities through partnerships with top universities, including our prominent collaboration with Taiwan’s advanced semiconductor and technology centers.

International Accreditation
The Physics Study Program is accredited by ASIIN (Germany), ensuring global academic standards and international recognition of your degree.
