Vision of Mission, Objectives, and Objectives

Study Program Vision

To be a master’s program of Physics that excels nationally and is well known internationally in various aspects of academic activities, as well as producing physics graduates who are competent and qualified and can be proud at the national level and recognized at the international level.

Mission Study Program

  1. Organizing quality learning processes in the basic areas of Physics, namely Classical Mechanics, Quantum Mechanics, and Electrodynamics, which can provide a deep understanding of Physics for the study of the branches of Advanced Physics.
  2. Organizing quality learning processes in various fields of Advanced Physics that can prepare students to conduct Physics research independently.
  3. Organizing the process of mentoring and mentoring in research to prepare students to be able to conduct quality Physics research activities.

Study Program Objectives

Produce physics master’s graduates who have the following competencies:

  1. Mastering the basic fields of physics studies including Electrodynamics, Quantum Mechanics, and Classical Mechanics; which allows it to expand and/or deepen an area of Advanced Physics studies.
  2. Mastering in depth one of the disciplines of Physics so as to produce innovative and tested work.
  3. Able to solve complex problems in Physics through a multidisciplinary approach.
  4. Able to plan and manage research well so that it can produce research work that has the potential to be applied and worthy of publication in reputable scientific journals at the national or international level.

Target

For the period of 2017-2022 the objectives in order to realize the vision, mission, and objectives of the Physics Master Study Program above are as follows:

  1. The realization of research-based learning both fundamental and applied. Research-based learning means that (a) learning content is always related to the development of research results or provides direction for the development of research related fields, (b) students are involved in researches carried out by lecturers. Such involvement is expected to provide provision and train students to be able to solve problems that will be faced in the real world in society as well as to prepare them to work as academics and researchers.
  2. Improvement of international reputation in academic field. International reputation is related to international recognition. International reputation in the field of education means international recognition of our graduates or the use of our courses by the international community as an option in continuing education. International reputation can also be seen from the increasing internationally reputable publications produced by students and contribute to the development of existing research.
  3. Increased international cooperation. The improvement of international cooperation network is very closely related to the improvement of international reputation, namely supporting each other. The establishment of international cooperation can be seen as a victory for the international reputation of institutions and, on the contrary, the existence of international cooperation can enhance the international reputation.

Goal Achievement Strategy

1. The realization of research-based learning both fundamental and applied.

Strategies to achieve this goal are:

  • Implement problem-based learning.
  • Realizing the atmosphere of research-based learning, by holding seminars, comparative studies, focus group discussions, and so on.

2. Improvement of international reputation in academic field.

Strategies to achieve this goal are:

  • Improve student scientific publications in national and international journals.
  • Increasing student participation in scientific activities in the form of national and international seminars.

3. Increased international cooperation.

Strategies to achieve this goal are:

  • Organizing double degree programs with internationally reputable overseas universities.
  • Organizing student exchange programs with internationally reputable overseas universities.
  • Organizing visiting scholar programs.
